Republican Primary: Early Voting
Over 600,000 people have voted early in person and by absentee ballot in the Florida primary (Source). An American Research Group survey showed Romney leading among those who have already voted (51 to 33 percent). That’s a huge deficit for Gingrich to attempt to overcome in an election where somewhere around 2 million people are expected to vote.
More and more people are voting early, meaning you can have a good idea who’s won when the early polling results are released.
With that in mind, Ohio’s early voting begins tomorrow as Florida’s voting ends. The swing in the nationwide polls show Gingrich losing steam, so as voters go to the polls, he is probably not going to do very well. Also consider that Gingrich had trouble getting on the ballot in Ohio (Source).
Ohio’s primary will be on March 6th; 63 of the state’s 66 delegates will be bound to vote for the winner of the districts and statewide, but they are not legally required to vote for the candidate at the convention (Source).
